Dissolves taking 7.8 seconds on a single-processor machine can now
be accomplished in 4.3 seconds with EditDV 2.0 running on a dual-processor
system. EditDV 2.0 for Windows
includes batch capture, which saves time by allowing users to mark
clips while viewing footage. It then uses time-code to capture all
marked clips in a single pass. Time code integrity is maintained
allowing users to easily move projects to different computers as
needed. Batch capture is essential for archiving and re-purposing
projects. It also includes special batch lists that allow users
to automatically capture all footage on a tape in a series of 2GB
files. With the batch capture
feature, you can easily define how many extra frames to capture
while gathering media to provide trimming "head-room" and extra
frames to complete specialty wipes. Audio-only capture is also supported. Version 2.0 can export
Edit Decision Lists (EDLs) which makes it easier to migrate projects
to post production switching environments (CMX, Sony & IBM supported)
or another editing station. Improved editing from
the timeline and more tools for directly manipulating clips from
the timeline are also featured in EditDV 2.0. Clip linking and multiple
selection for dragging, roll and ripple editing from the sequencer
are all designed to make editors more productive. Version 2.0 now includes
a complete copy of PhotoDV for still image capture and manipulation.
PhotoDV automatically deinterlaces DV stills to eliminate motion.
It can also resize images while capturing. Camera control from your
keyboard means it's easier than ever to find the perfect shot. Ideal

Audio Channel Mapping Filter
This filter allows you to "route" the left or right channels of a stereo track to the left or right channels of the AP track. This filter can perform a variety of useful functions, such as Sum to Mono, Pan Right/Left, Fill Right/Left, and Channel Swap.
This filter is keyframable, like all EditDV filters. For example, you could have a clip that begins at a low volume, summed to mono, and at a certain event, the sound track swells to a full stereo sound. Or, you could animate the pan of a stock sound effect such as footsteps to match the video image.
