Spotting Tools
The new Spotting feature of Sonicfire Pro 5 lets you set the important music markers along any imported video sequence. Mark the music in and out points and also mark key events in your scene that need support of a well-timed change in the music. Once you’ve set your markers, the Spotting tool will turn your visual cues into a list of music search results that are ideally suited for the duration and pacing of your markers.

Smart Recall
Smart Recall is another great innovation from SmartSound. Every music file created by Sonicfire Pro works as a standard audio file in all of your media applications, but it also retains full customization control. If you wanted to change the length or adjust the mix of any other library music, it would be nearly impossible. With Smart Recall, your music files will open in Sonicfire Pro with the settings that were used to create the file. Make some quick adjustments to the length, variation or mix and update the original or save a copy with your new settings.

Enhanced Timing Controls

• Matching beats to video: New Timing Control mode capability lets you synchronize the beats of your music to
  events in your video without editing. Simply grab a beat and place it where you need to have your score match the
  feel and timing of your production. In most cases, the track will realign itself to maintain its original ending timing.
• Improved music flow: Sonicfire Pro 5 now gives you the ability to change music sections. If your music is
  developing too fast or too slow you can change to a new music section that better fits your video.
• Insert a stinger: Choose from a wide range of stingers and hits and place them on your timeline to add additional
  emphasis. Snapping stingers to a beat makes integration into a score seamless.
• Change Tempo & Pitch: Easily change the tempo and adjust the pitch of any SmartSound music track. All tempo
  and pitch variations you create will still retain the full customization controls for that music.

  track for your productions. Far beyond keyword and metadata searching, Sensory Searching changes your search

Mood Mapping™

What is mood mapping you ask?
Only the coolest new feature to hit audio creation software in years. Moodmapping allows you to change the mix of the instruments in your audio track to better match the the pace and tempo of the your videos. You can change the moodmap over the duration of the clip. think of it as audio keyframing.

As an example, lets say you have a shot of the family ski trip. As you go down the slope, there will naturally be parts of the video where the action picks up, and other times when your just gliding gently down the mountain. With mood mapping you can put on your audio track, then adjust the mood to match the tempo of the video clip as it changes. Mood isn’t the speed of the music, but rather the fullness of the instrumentation (such as rythm only or drum & bass mix) It's the same "song", just changing the instrument depth or as SmartSound so smartly named it "the mood" of the music.

Unlike many of you guys, I have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever (although I have been told I play a mean air guitar on my Lacrosse stick). With SmartSound I was always able to create soundtracks for my video that sounded great. With moodmapping and the new Sonic Fire pro 4, I can take that to the next level, and actually fine tune the soundtrack to the video. I’m still a hack, but it’s amazing how easy it is for me to use and create even better soundtracks.
